Nasi Kerabu Kelate

Hello thats me again Yana, today i want to share about interesting food in Kelantan. 

Kelantan is also famous with unique food. For those who come to visit here you must try this food and the food can make you crave for it.

Nasi Kerabu

Nasi Kerabu in blue-coloured rice is eaten with fried chicken or dried fish, crackers, pickles and other salads. It is often eaten with " solok lada " and is also eaten with fried " keropok ".

Nasi Kerabu is very popular at Kelantan and one of the classic dishes of Kelantan. If you visit Kelantan you must try this food because it taste is very different with another " Nasi ". Nasi Kerabu often taken as breakfast.

Nasi Kerabu comes in a few colors  other than blue , blue is most popular color. It can be white (plain white) ,  yellow (with turmeric) and grey (Mengkudu leaves). There are so many different styles of cooking.


" Bunga telang " also known clitoria ternatea (butterfly-pea)


Nasi Kerabu are rice cooked with butterfly-pea flowers (bunga telang). The basic Nasi Kerabu  mixtures of herbs & " ulam ", coconut flaked fish (kerisik sambal ikan) and coconut sauce (sambal tumis kelapa). 





It can be served with these side dishes;

Crackers (Keropok)
Bolted salted egg (Telur masin)
Fish stuffed chilli (Solok lada)
Turmeric fried fish (Ikan goreng tepung)
Grilled beef (Daging bakar)
Fried chicken (Ayam goreng)
